POEM

Wake me from slumber
by Atty. Farooq Niazi

There is smell of gun powder, filth, black smoke

Thunder and lightning

And sad quietness (of the graveyard)

Every touch has become so cold

And each body is lying dead

Despite this, my sense is still bright

And my feelings alive

I feel and I think

Holding a lamp of memory in my world

To find out my name and my identity

Alone in darkness from ruin to ruin I go

Is there anyone to tell me about

My destiny, my goal, my lost paradise?
